Scottish Independence: It’s Time For Round Two

The First Minister Of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon has announced that the second referendum on Scottish Independence will happen. This Time it’s going to be held between Autumn 2018 and Spring 2019. Another aftershock from Brexit.

We’ve been down this road before, In 2012 the first referendum was announced and in 2014 Scotland voted to stay in the UK with one condition: We Stay in the EU. Now after Brexit that pledge is broken.

Considering how well the SNP has done, it’s no surprise the Independence movement has gone from strength to strength. I know Its way to early to call but I think Scotland could go independent.

Back in the Brexit Referendum, Scotland overwhelming to stay while the majority of England and Wales voted to leave. it’s lead to the now deep divide on the border.

My personal opinion at the first referendum was that Scotland would go independent and now that the second referendum is on the cards my opinion is staying the same. I’m In favour of Scottish independence.

The Idea of one country ruling another is a little outdated and the format of the United Kingdom needs updating, The Second referendum could be the one to reform the UK. If the referendum is to happen, I hope it is done in a more grown up manner compared to the Brexit referendum.

As always a discussion is welcome, especially on this topic. I really want to know other opinions on this subject. For Journaling Thoughts I’ve been Jordan Dodds
